Santa Melo is Coming to Town (Again)

Keeping with his holiday tradition, Carmelo Anthony is getting into the spirit once again, hosting his annual “A Very Melo Christmas” in the Nuggets home town of Denver.

This year The Carmelo Anthony Foundation welcomes over 120 middle school students from Denver who are working to “B-More” in their communities and families.  As a reward for their commitment to excelling in life, along with being productive young citizens, Melo is treating each student to a special holiday gift, to go along with the event’s Christmas movie.  This year’s big screen present: “Elf” starring the hilarious Will Farrell.

Melo once again takes time out between home games to stay closely involved and active in the community.  Just weeks after Team Melo handed out Thanksgiving meals and personal products to over 400 families through the Feed the Children Organization, Carmelo is staying committed to his personal mission to reach out, connect and give back.  As part of his “A Very Melo Christmas” and his “B-More In Your Community” program, his Foundation continually seeks to recognize and honor those in the community who are doing outstanding things to improve the lives of those around them.  These “heroes” and their deeds usually happen away from the spotlight and often go unrewarded.  With this in mind, Melo goes above and beyond, donating both money and his time to salute these worth achievers.  The far too often unsung local heroes can be children, parents, teachers, doctors, community activists – literally anyone who gives back and works hard in selfless ways to “B-More”.

This 2009 “A Very Melo Christmas” event will take place Sunday December 13.
